Making Art Happen (MAH) is a pedagogical innovation project through art. As a member of the team and coordinator in the Basque Country, we promote and apply artistic practices for educational development.

MAH collaborates with a network of teachers from universities, schools, and other national education centers to develop classroom experiences implemented by visual artists. The aim is to address contents from university and school programs —not necessarily artistic— in order to foster critical visual thinking.

In this way, the project seeks to generate artistic learning experiences jointly designed by teachers, artists, and students, through a process of cultural mediation that takes place in the classroom. The methodology, implemented since the end of 2017, enables students of non-artistic subjects to approach the contents of their discipline through art.
