Urban Patterns is a typology of some of the practice towers used by the London Fire Brigade. The designs of these structures follow a limited number of patters that are repeated in many of the city’s fire stations. Selecting tow of these designs, I have photographed them to emphasise the sameness of the structures. We are therefore confronted with objects observed by all who live in the city but perhaps rarely connected in this way. At the same moment that the connection is made, we seem to doubt whether these structures are real – have the images been manipulated to give the appearance that these structures are duplicated, or have we simply never noticed the duplication before?

"Urban Patterns" es una tipología de algunas de las torres de práctica utilizadas por el Cuerpo de Bomberos de Londres. Los diseños de estas estructuras siguen un número limitado de patrones que se repiten en muchas de las estaciones de bomberos de la ciudad. Seleccionando dos de estos diseños, los he fotografiado para enfatizar la similitud de las estructuras. Por lo tanto, nos encontramos con objetos observados por todos los que viven en la ciudad pero quizás rara vez conectados de esta manera. Al mismo tiempo que se establece la conexión, parece que dudamos si estas estructuras son reales: ¿se han manipulado las imágenes para dar la apariencia de que estas estructuras están duplicadas, o simplemente nunca hemos notado la duplicación antes?
